When the GHSCT Trust was established in 2001 the administration of the funds donated by grateful patients and their families and hitherto held in the Amenity funds, was transferred to the independent Board of Trustees.
In 2005, following the transfer of responsibilities upon the change of government, the Board of Health and the Children Board were combined to form the Health and Social Care (the “HSC”).
It has been agreed that the Children Board Funds should be combined with the GHSCT funds.
This has not yet been effected by the States but when it does happen the GHSCT would became “The Health and Social Services Department Charitable Trust”
A very grand and cumbersome title so the Trustees have decided to re-name the Trust
“THE LITTLE EXTRAS TRUST”.
For the time being the Trustees will continue to deal only with the Health Service side of the Trust until the Children Board Funds are received.
